Rowing is a sport, an art, a meditation, a community...

We believe  that learning to row can be a transformative experience for athletes of every age and level. Our Learn to Row classes are a great way to start your journey. We look forward to sharing our love of rowing with you. 

 

Learn to Row Classes

Over the course of 12 classes, you'll learn the basics of the stroke for both sculling and sweep rowing styles, rowing terminology and water safety. Small Class sizes and experienced coaches & volunteers help build on-water skills quickly and safely.

Four-week sessions begin monthly; Class fee $250.00​

To Sign Up

  • Sign up for your preferred session HERE!

  • Print and complete waiver form and float test.

    • Float test are administered at most Seattle Public Pool during open swim sessions. Check their schedules here. http://www.seattle.gov/parks/pools.

    • Scuba, PADI, or military swim tests are accepted in lieu of the PRC test.

    • Bring completed forms to your first session. 

    • Pay for April class fee here 

    • Pay for May class fee here 

What's Next?

​Ready for more? All successful graduates of PRC's Learn to Row program will qualify for a three-session Team Pass to PRC's Sculling Basics class. These coaches sessions are designed to help new rowers develop technique, boat-handling skills & fitness.

​Once you've completed your Learn to Row series  and tried Sculling Basics, we hope you'll join us by becoming a member.

Continue building proficiency in Sculling Basics and/or Technically Sculling, qualify to row independently, and join a team. When you're ready for more of a challenge, ask us about opportunities to compete!

If you prefer a customized Learn to Row experience, private lessons are available upon request. Contact info@pocockrowingclub.org for details.

  • March 12th-April 5th, 7:00 am - 8:30 am.

  • April 9th-May 3rd, 6:45 pm - 8:15 pm.

  • May 7th-May 31st, 6:30am - 8:00 am.

  • June 18th-July 12th, 6:30am - 8:00am.

  • August 6th-August 30th, 7:00am - 8:30am.

  • September 3rd-September27th, 6:30am-8:00am.
